Caitlin Clark's Acknowledgment About Playing with New Fever Teammates - Yahoo Sports
Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark put together one of the best rookie seasons in WNBA history last year, but her team finished just 20-20 and was swept in the first round of the playoffs.
Indiana’s front office knew improvements were needed, so they traded for Sophie Cunningham and made key free-agent signings in DeWanna Bonner, Brianna Turner, and Natasha Howard.

Now, the Fever hold the fourth-best odds to win the 2025 WNBA title at +400 (per ESPN Bet), behind the New York Liberty (+230), Minnesota Lynx (+325), and Las Vegas Aces (+375).
Things won’t be easy from the get-go as the team continues to build chemistry — and according to Clark, that’s okay. On Friday, she spoke to the media and acknowledged the "challenge" of playing together for the first time, adding that "you just got to play through it."
"It's going to be this team's first time playing together, too, so there's going to be a learning curve there and a challenge that's presented, and not everything is going to be perfect," the reigning Rookie of the Year said. "You just got to play through it, play through the mistakes. That's what Coach Steph talks about all the time. So, just learn and go out there and compete and get the win."

The Fever will open the 2025 WNBA regular season on Saturday against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky, with tip-off at Gainbridge Fieldhouse scheduled for 3 p.m. ET on ABC.

Clark discussed the excitement she's coming into Saturday with.
"I think I've just been waiting to play basketball for a really long time now," the 6-foot guard added. "You go through the preseason games, you go through a lot of training camp, and it's been a few weeks now. I think you're just itching to get out there and really play like a real game that's going to count towards your record."
