- At least three police officers have been killed in grisly accident along the Bungoma-Webuye Highway.

The Tuesday, June 3 accident involved a Ford Ranger police vehicle and a fuel trailer at the Matulo area.
Regional Police Com,ander Issa Mohamud confirmed the sad incident, disclosing that the victims who included a police driver and a sergeant died on the spot.
Mohamud said the Ford Ranger police vehicle enroute to Bungoma from was Webuye towards with one passenger who was a police sergeant when it collided head-on with the trailer.
“On reaching at the location of the accident, he improperly overtook other vehicles and collided head on with motor vehicle Mercedes Benz trailer driven from the opposite direction. Due to the impact , the officers sustained multiple body injuries and died on the spot but their two rifles are safe," Mohamud said.
The driver of the trailer complained of pain as a result of the accident. The bodies were moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigation.
