Supreme Court nominee, Justice Senyo Dzamefe, says he cannot be blamed for the government's refusal to implement some of the recommendations from the 2014 Commission of Inquiry.

Justice Dzamefe headed the committee for investigations after the Black Stars' mess at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, where the team exited the competition in the group stage.

The commission was established by then-President John Dramani Mahama to investigate the events that led to the early exit from the tournament and the accompanying public uproar over financial mismanagement.

Speaking before Parliament's Appointments Committee, Justice Dzamefe was quizzed on why the government still practices some of the actions he recommended be halted after his inquiry.

"We said players should not be paid cash. We all saw what happened in Brazil when we had to fly money to Brazil for players, and we saw some of the players holding theirs; it was one bad thing for Ghana," he said.

"We also recommended that the state should not sponsor supporters to go to countries while we are playing."

When interrupted by Alexander Afenyo-Markin, Justice Dzamefe added, "I have done my job."

"We were thinking that instead of flying people from Ghana and booking hotels and feeding them, why don't we buy Ghanaians who are in that country?"
