BPP launches procurement training in Northwest, Northeast
The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) has begun a training programme focused on the use of its recently revised Standard Procurement Documents in Nigeria’s North-West and North-East regions.
The development was announced in a statement on Tuesday by Zira Nagga, Head of Public Relations at the BPP headquarters in Abuja.
According to Nagga, the initiative is in line with the bureau’s statutory role under Section 5(m) of the Public Procurement Act (PPA) 2007. He said the documents had been reviewed to help procurement stakeholders understand the changes and apply them accurately in their operations.
“In line with this, BPP, in collaboration with the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Programme, has organised a three-day physical training programme in the North-West and North-East regions of the country,” the statement said.
The training is scheduled to hold from May 19 to 21 at Tahir Guest Palace in Kano, Kano State.
Nagga said the programme is aimed at BPP-certified procurement officers working within Ministries, Departments and Agencies, as well as in state-owned universities, SUBEB procurement offices, and among contractors, consultants, and service providers.
