Bobby Wales seals £300k Kilmarnock departure as English Championship club win race for Scotland youth striker - Football Scotland
Kilmarnock striker Bobby Wales has agreed a bumper four year contract with Swansea City.
The 19-year-old Killie kid is scheduled to travel to Wales for his medical next week at the EFL Championship club.
The talented prospect was up for grabs in the summer with his Rugby Park contract set to come to an end.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, posting on X, he wrote: "Swansea have agreed deal to sign Scotland U21 striker Bobby Wales, all done.
"Wales will sign a four year deal as he will complete a medical this week.
"Kilmarnock will receive £300k compensation."
Wales has scored five goals in 31 appearances for the Scottish Premiership side, and has also represented his country at under-19 level.
He now looks set to continue his career in SA1 once he's seen out his time in Scotland, and is now poised to become Swansea's first signing of the summer.
Having made their move in appointing Alan Sheehan as their next permanent boss, the Swans are poised for a big recruitment drive this summer.
"I think we've got to get the right players in and it's got to be right for all of us," Sheehan said.
"We need to have the right blend of assets. As well as experience in the building, and get that right.
"We want to keep certain players we believe are really good fits for the football club, but we understand a lot of teams want good players.
"So we have to be really proactive in what we want to do. We want to make a number of signings.
"I think we can all agree on that and I think hopefully you'll see the action instead of talking about it."
