Bitterly cold air on the way
ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – Snow showers are back in the forecast Thursday. There’s a weak clipper system that will add to the snow totals over the next day. However, there are two chances for sunshine on the way. One with mild conditions and the other with drastically colder air. Some of the coldest this season.
High pressure and dry weather with peeks of sun return on Friday. But don’t get used to the above-normal temperatures because behind the first clipper is another system slated to bring a wintry rain and snow mix comes to the area this holiday weekend.
The Arctic air from Canada will plummet south bring dramatically colder air our direction. The only trade-off with this system is that we will have more sunshine in the vicinity. We are looking at temperatures that will be in the below-zero zone in our overnights without the wind chill.
