The Board of Control for Cricket in India has reportedly implemented stricter rules regarding family members' access to the Players and Match Officials Areas (PMOA) during IPL matches. The board has also made it mandatory for players to use team buses for transportation, a practice already enforced for Team India during international matches.
"Players to use the team bus while coming for practice. Teams may travel in two batches," states the new BCCI regulation, as per Cricbuzz.

The BCCI recently communicated these changes to all franchises through an email after explaining the modifications to team managers during a Zoom meeting on February 18.

The new regulations specifically address family members of players and support staff, restricting their access to dressing rooms even during practice sessions. Match day access was already prohibited.

"On practice days (during pre-tournament & tournament), only accredited staff is allowed in the dressing room and on the field of play. Player family members and may friends travel in a different vehicle and can watch team practice from the hospitality area. For extended support staff (throw down specialist/net bowlers) list need to be submitted for approval to the BCCI. Once approved, non-match day accreditations will be issued for the same," says the mail.
The BCCI has banned fitness tests on the main square during match days, a practice previously common among physios testing players before matches. Players must now wear Orange and Purple caps for at least two overs and avoid sleeveless jerseys during post-match presentations.
A face-to-face meeting with all team captains is scheduled for March 20 at the Cricket Centre in Mumbai to explain these rules in detail. The IPL is scheduled to begin at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on March 22.

The practice session regulations have also been clearly defined. Teams will receive two nets in the practice area and one side wicket on the main square for range hitting. At Mumbai venue, teams practicing simultaneously will get two wickets each.
Open nets are not permitted, and teams cannot use wickets even if another team finishes practice early. No practice or fitness tests will be allowed on match days.
The BCCI has established strict match day protocols. PMOA accredited staff must carry their accreditation, with warnings issued for first-time violations and monetary fines for subsequent breaches.
Players are prohibited from hitting balls toward LED boards despite having designated hitting nets. They cannot sit in front of LED boards, and specific areas will be marked for substitutes carrying towels and water bottles.

wearing requirement has been emphasised. Players must wear these caps for at least the first two overs to ensure broadcast capture.
Post-match presentation guidelines prohibit floppies and sleeveless jerseys. First violations will receive warnings, while second violations will incur financial penalties.
Match day support staff is limited to 12 accredited members, including the team doctor. Any jersey number changes must be communicated 24 hours in advance according to clothing and equipment guidelines.
