Barbie Ferreira isn’t shying away from her goals!

While promoting her new movie, Bob Trevino Likes It, the actress, 28, spoke in a PEOPLE in 10 interview about how continually learning about herself gives her a sense of confidence to pursue her dreams despite not coming from a famous family.

“I knew what I wanted from a very young age,” Ferreira exclusively tells PEOPLE. “I didn’t grow up in a Hollywood family by any means or anything like that, so for me, I just had no plan B.

“I’m just a like a go-getter in this way where I really try,” she continues. “If I want to do something, I will try my hardest to make it happen and continue doing it."

“I think really the confidence is just in knowing my worth and believing in myself, which is always hard,” she adds. “Every day I learn something new about me and my craft, and as I get older too, things happen.”

Ferreira says she’s had to learn to trust her gut instinct while keeping a “very clear” focus on the vision she has for her life. Simultaneously, the former Euphoria star admits it took some time for her to embrace taking risks to achieve her dreams.

“I’m the kind of person that has a very clear vision, and I try to stick to it as much as possible,” she shares. “I trust my gut a lot."

“That was something I had to work way up into, the confidence, and be like, 'I know this isn’t going to work, but I want to do it anyway just because I don’t know enough,' ” the star continues. “As I get older and I get really into my craft and my career and I really know what I want at the end of the day.”

Ferreira adds, “I just make sure that everything I do is toward that.”

Having made her Broadway debut in Cult of Love in December 2024, Ferreira also discussed in the interview the sweet moment that the Broadway play gave her an opportunity to reunite with her former Euphoria co-star Sydney Sweeney.

She says Sweeney unexpectedly texted her before showing up to watch the play in New York.

“She came, I had no idea, I wasn't expecting it, I thought she was going to be busy, but she came, she showed up and it was so wonderful,” Ferreira says of their reunion.
