Azumah Resources Denies Unauthorized Black Volta Gold Project Sale | News Ghana
The mining firm rejected claims of a scheduled July 7 signing ceremony with Engineers & Planners Company Limited (E&P), calling circulating invitations “unauthorized and misleading.”
“We have neither sold nor are selling this project,” stated Azumah, confirming no board approval or executive awareness of such a deal. The company clarified it entered no acquisition agreements and authorized no third-party negotiations. According to official records, Azumah retains full ownership of the flagship project, with development advancing through shareholder-funded preparatory works.
The denial aims to protect stakeholder confidence amid Ghana’s sensitive mining sector, where ownership changes attract regulatory and community scrutiny. Azumah reiterated its commitment to transparent development aligned with national goals, urging media and the public to disregard the claims.
Black Volta represents one of Ghana’s most significant gold prospects, making ownership clarity critical amid recurring land and corporate disputes.
