The ASE Education Foundation and the National Coalition of Certification Centers are launching a new collaboration aimed at enhancing and growing automotive technical education with secondary and post-secondary institutions across the U.S.

The partnership promises to strengthen collective efforts to meet current industry needs in the transportation service sector, according to a news release.

“We’re excited to collaborate with NC3, elevate the conversation and take action to address the technician shortage,” said Mike Coley, president of the ASE Education Foundation. “We value NC3’s commitment to preparing the next generation of automotive service professionals and look forward to working together to support and retain skilled talent in the industry.”

The joint initiative will support high schools and community/technical colleges by ensuring all automotive and diesel programs have the opportunity to earn ASE program accreditation. ASE and NC3 will work together to promote certification standards and advance instructor professional development and training.

The ASE Education Foundation plays a crucial role in advancing automotive service excellence and developing a skilled workforce, while attracting future generations to careers in the automotive industry. NC3 works to build strong industry partnerships with educational institutions to develop, implement, and sustain stackable credentials with strong validation and assessment standards. NC3 is a network of education providers and corporations that support, advance and validate new and emerging technology skills.

“Our partnership with the ASE Education Foundation underscores NC3’s commitment to bridging the gap between education and industry,” said Roger Tadajewski, NC3 executive director. “Together, we are empowering students to obtain competency-based training and credentials that employers value, helping to build a stronger, more skilled workforce.”
