Arla Foods marks World Milk Day with Dano Milk donation and new school programme in Obuasi
Arla Foods, producers of the popular Dano Milk brand, celebrated World Milk Day by providing nutritious breakfast to over 600 pupils at St. Thomas Catholic School in Obuasi and launching a new educational initiative, the Dano Milk Schools Program.
World Milk Day, observed annually on June 1, recognizes milk's global importance for nutrition and sustainable dairy production. Arla Foods Ghana joined the celebration under the theme "Celebrating the Power of Milk," highlighting its vital role in health.
More than 600 students at St. Thomas Catholic School received a warm breakfast enriched with Dano Milk.

The school was selected due to concerns about malnutrition, particularly acute malnutrition, in the Obuasi area, as reported by local news, and its strategic location within Arla Foods' key operational areas in the Ashanti Region.
"At Arla Foods, we recognize the vital role of quality nourishment, which is at the heart of Dano Milk," stated Mr. Wilson Agbeko, Marketing Manager of Arla Foods.
He emphasized that "every child deserves to experience the joy and benefits of starting their day with a nutritious meal enriched by Dano Milk".

The event also marked the launch of the Dano Milk Schools Program in the Ashanti Region. This initiative plans to reach approximately 20,000 schoolchildren across 60 public basic schools, educating them on healthy eating and the benefits of quality milk consumption.
Nana Osei Tutu Gyebi, Regional Manager for Ashanti, BA and North, speaking on behalf of the Managing Director of Arla Foods Ghana, emphasized the critical link between nutrition and learning.

"A nutritious breakfast sets the foundation for a successful day of learning. It fuels young minds, enhances concentration, and enables children to reach their full potential. By providing these meals and launching the Dano Milk Schools Program, we are not only celebrating the incredible power of milk but also investing in the future of our nation—our youth."
Arla Foods reiterated its commitment to investing in the future of Ghana's youth by fostering healthy eating habits and promoting overall well-being within communities.
