Anambra Police Begin Night Patrols to Enhance Security

As part of efforts to enhance the security of lives and properties as well as ward off criminal elements, the Anambra State Police Command has commenced night patrols.

In a press statement released on Tuesday, the spokesman for the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, stepped up the night patrols aimed at reinforcing the police’s commitment to serving and protecting the community.

Ikenga said the CP, while addressing the operatives, urged them to stay alert and proactive in preventing crimes and ensuring public safety, adding that the exercise began on Monday.

The statement read in part, “Anambra State police operatives on the directives of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, have stepped up night patrols aimed at reinforcing the Police’s commitment to serving and protecting the community.

“The CP, while addressing the Operatives, urged them to stay alert and proactive in preventing crimes and ensuring public safety.

“He further charged the operatives to conduct patrols with diligence, respect, and courtesy and to respect the rights of the citizens.

“This initiative aims to boost security and reassure residents of the Police’s commitment to their safety.”
