Allu Arjun reveals he was scared to do THIS scene in Sukumar’s 'Pushpa 2'

Allu Arjun is currently riding high on the success of his recent hit '

Pushpa 2

: The Rule' by Sukumar, and in a recent interview, he revealed the toughest part he played in the film. Arjun opened up about one particular scene that initially left him anxious during the shoot, which later became a global sensation.
In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, the National Award-winning actor reflected on the

Jathara

sequence in Pushpa 2 and admitted that it was the most daunting part of the film for him.
Allu shared how the idea of wearing a

saree

for the scene came right after an intense macho photoshoot in his

Pushparaj

avatar. The sudden shift in look made him uneasy, wondering whether it would translate well on screen.
He was initially scared when the makers narrated the

Jathara scene

, and that was his first reaction as well. After the photoshoot in the Pushparaj avatar, the director asked him to wear a saree. After doing a lot of sketches, it turned out well, as seen in the film.

The 'Sarrainodu' actor admitted that his confidence grew gradually as he saw the sketches and mood board coming together. He began to visualise how the transformation could work without compromising his character’s core strength.

The actor also highlighted director Sukumar’s vision, which was to maintain Pushparaj’s rugged alpha presence even while dressed in a saree. The intent was to ensure that the essence of the character remained intact. The Jathara scene is a standout moment in the film, as it was widely shared by international audiences on social media platforms. Earlier, Allu’s brother, Allu Sirish, and his co-star, Rashmika Mandanna, also showered praise on the actor for his effort in pulling off the character in a saree.

“Only one thing that Sukumar garu (sir) and I thought was that even if he’s dressed in a saree, he has to look very, very macho; the alpha-ness should not be lost,” Allu added.
On the work front, Allu Arjun will soon collaborate with Trivikram Srinivas for a mythological drama. There are also reports about him doing a film with Atlee.
