Published 11 hours ago2 minute read

Alexander Armstrong is embarking on a tour of Perfect Pub Walks in a second series of Up&Away Studios’ format for More4.

In Perfect Pub Walks (4×60), Alexander Armstrong sets out on some of the most spectacular pub walks the country has to offer, joined by “one of our best-loved national treasures” in each episode.

The series sees Sir Lenny Henry, Chris McCausland, James May and Chris Packham don their walking boots as they accompany Alexander in the great outdoors to amble from one lovely pub to the next in Yorkshire, Kent, Monmouthshire and Shropshire. Along the way, they take in the landscapes, nature and history, as well as sharing “wide-ranging, funny and sometimes very personal conversations.”

Alexander Armstrong says: “Nothing beats a walk in a beautiful landscape, a good pub, a pint and a great chat. Filming Perfect Pub Walks has been a complete delight, topped off by some fantastic conversations with four terrific icons.”

Clemency Green, commissioning editor for Channel 4, said: “Perfect Pub Walks is a beautiful series exploring stunning areas of the UK, as well as delving into a variety of topics and issues that come up in conversation between our brilliant host and his array of wonderful guests.”

Perfect Pub Walks is a four-part series made by Up&Away Studios for More4. It is commissioned by Clemency Green, Senior Commissioning Editor, Lifestyle, Channel 4, with Jo Street, Director of Commissioning, Nations and Regions and Channel 4’s Head of Lifestyle. The executive producers are Martin Fuller and Up&Away founder and CEO James Quinn, with Marisa Erftemeijer as head of production, Sarah Thornewell as line producer and Leo McCrea as director.

Up&Away Studios’ credits include the theatrical feature doc Sven and Sue Perkins: Along the US-Mexico Border.
