- The Independent Policing Oversight Authority IPOA has given an update regarding the ongoing investigations into the murder of blogger Albert Omondi Ojwang.

Kenyans have been pushing for speedy investigations to establish the people who killed the blogger inside Central Police Station.
In a statement to newsrooms on Wednesday, June 18, IPOA disclosed that in a week, it will recommend charges against various suspects.
IPOA assured the public that anyone found culpable will be charged irrespective of their social status.
"To expedite the investigations, IPOA has been working collaboratively with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) and IPOA is confident that by next week, the investigation ile with a recommendation to charge various suspects will be ready.
"The authority appeals or calm and assures Kenyans that in the quest for justice in this matter, there will be no scared cows. Anyone found culpable will be prosecuted," IPOA said
IPOA further announced that they had recorded statements from police officers based at the Central Police Station.
In the update, the authority disclosed that it had arrested Deputy OCS IP Samuel Ng'ang'a, who was in command at the station on the night the blogger was killed.
"As of Wednesday, June 18, a total of 20 police officers, including the Central Police Station Deputy OCS IP Samuel Ng'ang'a, have recorded statements with IPOA, with two of them, Central Police Station OCS Samsom Talaam, and PC James Mukwan, having been arraigned before various courts while IP Samuel Ng'ang'a was arrested and is detained at Muthaiga Police Station," IPOA added.
IPOA revealed that Deputy Inspector General of Kenya Police, Eliud Lagat, had been summoned to record his statement on the matter.
"Further, having found a basis, IPOA issued a summons to the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Eliud Lagat, to appear before the authorities' investigative team to record a statement.
