Ajimobi's daughter Abisola dies at 42 after battling 'breast cancer'

Abisola Kola-Daisi, eldest daughter of Abiola Ajimobi, the late former governor of Oyo State, has passed away.
She died yesterday in the United Kingdom. She was 42.
While the exact cause of her death remains unknown, Abisola was said to have battled breast cancer for several years.
Teslim Folarin, a former senator representing Oyo State, announced her death in a tribute via his Facebook page.
He extended his condolences to the Ajimobi family, describing Abisola’s death as a ‘‘non-fillable void’’, while sharing his personal experience of knowing her.
“I am deeply saddened to receive the news of the passing on of Mrs. Bisola Kola-Daisi (Nee Ajimobi), the beloved daughter of my cousin, the late Senator Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi, and former Oyo State governor’s wife, Dr. Florence Ajimobi. Bisola’s untimely death has left a non-fillable void in our hearts, and I can only imagine the pain of a parent burying their child,” he wrote.
“As someone who had the privilege of knowing Bisola as a dear family member – she was like a daughter to me – her death has left me with a profound sense of personal loss.
“I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Ajimobi family, particularly Dr. Florence Ajimobi. May God grant us the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
Abisola was married to Kolapo Kola-Daisi in 2010 and they had three children. She also served as a special adviser to Atiku Bagudu, Minister of Budget and Planning, until her demise.
Governor Seyi Makinde has expressed condolences to Mrs Ajimobi over the death of her daughter.
He said the death of Mrs Kola-Daisi, who he described as affable and good-spirited, was a sad and shocking development.
The governor also commiserated with Bashorun Kola-Daisi’s family as well as the husband of the deceased, Kolapo.
He urged both families to take heart, praying to God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss and to avert such sad occurrence in both families.
Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Bagudu, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of his Special Assistant, Mrs. Kola-Daisi.
In a statement issued by the ministry, the minister described her as a young woman who, during her brief tenure, displayed exceptional brilliance and unwavering commitment to duty.
Senator Bagudu extended his condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a close associate of the deceased’s father, former governor of Oyo State, Senator Ajimobi.
The minister also commiserated with the Abiola Ajimobi family and her husband, Kolapo, praying for divine strength to help them cope with the painful loss.
Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing on of Mrs Kola-Daisi.
He also extended condolences to her husband, Kolapo, Mrs. Ajimobi and Bashorun of Ibadanland, Chief Kola Daisi.
A statement by Bolaji Tunji, Special Adviser, Strategic Communications and Media Relations to the Minister, quoted the minister as saying the news came as a great shock to him. He described her as a remarkable woman, who embodied grace, kindness and quiet strength.
“As a sister and wife of my brother, an accomplished professional, Kolapo Kola-Daisi, Abisola carried herself with dignity and poise.
To the Kola-Daisi family, I pray that Almighty Allah grants you the fortitude to bear this untimely loss.
‘’May Almighty Allah grant Abisola Al-Jannah Firdaus and give the family the strength to bear this painful loss. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace,’’ the statement said.
Oyo State House of Assembly Speaker Adebo Ogundoyin has described as a colossal loss, the death of Mrs Kola-Daisi.
The Speaker, in a condolence message issued in Ibadan, expressed heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Governor Ajimobi.
Ogundoyin described Abisola’s death as an irreparable loss, not only to the Ajimobi family, but also to the people of Oyo State.
He extended his sympathies to Dr. (Mrs.) Ajimobi, Bisola’s mother, and the entire Kola-Daisi family, praying that God should grant them the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
