AJ Wick and Leila Hosn named All-SCIAC - D3hoops
LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced the 2025 Women's Basketball All-SCIAC Awards and earning their first selections are AJ Wick and Leila Hosn.
Wick is one of eight members on the first team. She finished second in scoring during SCIAC play at 18 points per game (PPG). She averaged 12.3 rebounds per game (RPG) and shot 47.3 percent from the field, both second best. Additionally, she was great as a secondary passer, averaging 3.3 assists per game (APG), 10th most, and protected the ball, posting an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.1, 10th best.
Not to be a one-way player, Wick was second in blocks per game (BPG) at 1.5 and averaged 1.4 steals per game (SPG), 18th.
Wick had a record season rebounding. She recorded six games that ranked inside the top-23 in program history (all were 16 plus rebound games). One of those games was a 24-rebound game at home against Caltech in January when she grabbed 24 rebounds, only one off the record of 25. She finished with 115 offensive rebounds (2nd), 226 defensive rebounds (2nd), and 342 total rebounds (2nd). Additionally, her 37 total blocks are tied for seventh most.
Hosn is one of six second team selections. She really came on very strong during SCIAC play as the primary ball handler and scorer from the guard position. She averaged 13.9 PPG, sixth most. She converted her shots at a 41.7 percent rate (12th) and made her free throws 64.6 percent of the time (7th). She led SCIAC in assists at 5.8. She was also third in assist-to-turnover ratios at 1.7.
On the defensive end of the floor Hosn averaged 6.3 RPG (14th) and 1.9 SPG (7th).
This season Hosn finished second in school history for total assists in a season with 140, only two off the record. She also recorded two nine-assist games, both tied for the 14th most in program history.
Both players will return for a Bulldog team that returns all but one player in 2025-26.
