With a glowing line of sindoor in her hair and a message in it, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made her first appearance at Cannes this year.

She wore an ivory saree with sindoor in her hair. With this, she conveyed two messages: to shut down rumors about her personal life and to show her respect for India’s Operation Sindoor.

Sindoor (vermilion) is the mark of a married Hindu woman, and she silenced all divorce rumors that Aishwarya and her husband Abhishek Bachchan have been subjected to.

Aishwarya Rai was last seen in an acting role in Mani Ratnam’s blockbuster movies – the ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ franchise.
