AI-Travel Planner: A Weekend Adventure in Carson City
While I've been to Las Vegas more times than I can count, I have yet to visit Carson City—and I think that will have to change. Perhaps this is the year I visit Nevada's capital, a city with a rich history dating back to the 1850s. I decided to use the Only In Your State AI-Travel Planner to see what it would suggest for a weekend adventure in Carson City, and the results were, in a word, interesting! Let's see what itinerary it came up with, and I'll let you know my thoughts at the end.
Using the AI-Travel Planner is easy, and I mean very easy. All you do is pick a city, how long you'll be visiting (a day, a weekend, a week, or a month), what month you'd like to visit, who you're going with (solo, with a partner, with friends, or with family), and click on your interests from a provided list. This AI tool will do the rest.
For this example, I chose a weekend getaway to Carson City, NV, with friends in the month of August. The interests I chose were nature, attractions, vacation rentals, hotels and resorts, restaurants, historic places, and scenic locations. Here are the results for a wondrous adventure to Nevada's capital city:
The Travel Planner gave a couple of solid options for what to do during a weekend in Carson City. For one, there is a farmers' market. Between mid-June and early October, the Carson City Farmers Market is held on Saturdays between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Marv Teixeira Pavilion in Mills Park. I could pick up fresh produce and fresh-baked goodies from local vendors and make a picnic out of what I buy for our next location. This is definitely a suggestion I love!
For a nature option, the Travel Planner tool suggested Kings Canyon in the Carson City Open Space, where a waterfall is reachable via a 0.7-mile hike. This is a perfect choice for my friends and me. I know we will love to spend time in such a scenic area with a beautiful water feature. And having a picnic surrounded by stunning scenery is icing on the cake.
The option I was most excited about was the Carson Hot Springs Resort, a place I would absolutely love to visit with friends. Soak in outdoor thermal pools at this century-old mineral hot springs, which will help you relax and decompress. If you want to grab a drink, visit Shoe Tree Brewery on-site. For a bite to eat, head on over to Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint nearby.
When I travel, I love dining at establishments that give a great taste (pun intended) of the local cuisine. For my Carson City trip, the Travel Planning tool suggested both Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint and Mom and Pop’s Diner.
Situated by the Carson Hot Springs Resort, Sassafras Eclectic Food is where you can dine on globally-inspired cuisine in a funky setting. The food is bursting with flavor, and you'll understand why this is a favorite spot for locals and residents alike. For a more subdued dining experience, there's nothing quite as comforting as Mom and Pop's Diner. Conveniently located in downtown Carson City, this family-friendly establishment is where you can order breakfast all day. That's right—breakfast ALL DAY! (It's like this AI Travel Planner tool really knows me.)
As for the accommodations results, I was pleasantly surprised by what our AI tool came up with. I happen to love historic buildings, so I appreciated the Historic St. Charles Hotel suggestion. This hotel was built in downtown Carson City in 1862 and is within walking distance to the State Capitol, restaurants, and shops. Rooms at this historic hotel can be booked on Airbnb.
I have to say, I really enjoy using our AI Travel Planner tool. Not only is it incredibly fun to play around with, but its suggestions were on par with what I would want to do in town. Now, would I use it again to plan my U.S. adventures? Absolutely! It's like having an assistant who can alleviate most of my stress while planning my U.S. travel adventures.
