The controversial was later whisked by the police from the Circuit court premises to prison to begin her jail term.
Agradaa was sentenced to 15 years in prison with hard labour after a Circuit Court in Accra found her guilty of charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretences on Thursday, July 3, 2025.
The Heaven Way church founder was convicted of defrauding multiple victims via a 2022 televised broadcast, during which she claimed to possess spiritual powers to double people's money for them.
Agradaa's fraudulent promises led to several individuals handing over large sums of money to her, hoping to receive massive financial returns, which they never got.
According to the prosecution, six complainants, along with more than a thousand others, travelled from various parts of the country to her church to participate in the fraudulent money-doubling scheme and offer significant money as per the televangelist's instructions.
The Circuit court also noted that Agradaa's conduct had the makings of a coordinated and deliberate attempt to defraud vulnerable victims under the guise of religious ritual.
Before her sentencing, the court ordered her to visit the nearest medical facility for a mandatory pregnancy test, as required under Ghanaian judicial procedures for female convicts.
However, the test confirmed she was not pregnant, which allowed the court to proceed with delivering the 15-year sentence.
