Recently, during an interview, Chandrashekhar Srikrishna Pusalkar expressed his happiness about Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani’s project, while also sharing his disappointment that S. S. Rajamouli did not approach him.

Speaking about the dedication of the team for making the film, Chandrashekhar Srikrishna Pusalkar said, "Aamir-Hirani's team worked hard to gain trust. Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani's project was a surprise for me too. I just got to know that they have tied up, but their assistant producer, Hindukush Bhardwaj, has been in touch with me for the last three years. He used to come to meet me again and again, do research, and ask for details. I told him clearly- You guys are working honestly, you go ahead, I have no objection."

Dadasaheb Phalke’s grandson further showed his confidence in Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani and said, "Aamir is very serious, he works with complete honesty. If Aamir Khan is doing this role, then I am very happy because Aamir Khan is a very serious fellow. Whatever work he does, he does it with complete honesty. Along with him, there is also a director like Rajkumar Hirani, who has done excellent work in the past. So I am confident that this team will present Phalke ji's story with respect."

He further said, "Bhardwaj's team consulted me at every stage. This project was in their planning for about three years. Hindukush Bhardwaj and his team talked to me at every stage, took me to different places, and showed me the spots. Their effort was very important because nowadays people don't consider it necessary to ask their family. But they kept the family involved, which is a good thing. I have seen that Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani's team have worked hard to gain the trust of my family. They have been constantly consulting, so I can say that this project is in safe hands."

He also spoke on S S Rajamouli's announcement of making a film on Dadasaheb Phalke’s life. He said, "Rajamouli never contacted me for the biopic. I have been hearing discussions about Rajamouli's project, but he never contacted me for it. No one spoke to me on behalf of Rajamouli. If someone is making a film on Phalke ji, then at least the family should be talked to. It should not happen that the family is ignored. The family is the real knower, only they can tell the right stories."
