A major road is closed in both directions due to a two-vehicle crash.

The collision happened on the A370 at about 07:15 BST, with the road now closed between Congresbury and the roundabout for junction 21 of the M5 in Weston-super-Mare.

Avon and Somerset Police said emergency services are at the scene and the road is expected to be closed for some time.

"We'd advise road users to seek an alternative route," a spokesperson for the force said.
