A Third Big 12 Women's Basketball Coach is Gone This Week
The Big 12 women’s basketball coaching carousel continued on Saturday with Arizona State reportedly moving on from , according to On3’s Talia Goodman.
Adair struggled in Arizona State’s first season in the Big 12, with the Sun Devils finishing with a 10-22 record overall and 3-15 in Big 12 play. Arizona State’s season ended on Thursday in the second round of the Big 12 women’s basketball tournament, falling to Iowa State 82-75.
Adair didn’t have much success with the Sun Devils, as her career in Tempe will wrap up with a 29-62 record.
This news comes on the heels of Ronald Hughey resigning as the Houston women’s basketball coach earlier this week. And then late on Friday night it was reported that BYU would be moving on from its women’s basketball coach.
Prior to joining the Sun Devils, she enjoyed her best stretch of coaching at Delaware, where she went 95-58 record over five seasons, including back-to-back 20-win seasons. Delaware made an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2022 for the first time in nearly a decade under Adair.
Adair’s head coaching career began at the College of Charleston, where she led the team to a 35-31 record over three seasons and two WBI appearances. She then moved to Georgetown, where she coached for four years, compiling a 37-54 record and two WNIT appearances.
She finishes her time at Arizona State with a conference record of just 7-47 between two seasons in the Pac-12 and one in the Big 12.
The Sun Devils haven’t made an NCAA Tournament appearance since 2019.
