A dashcam video from inside a semi-truck driving on I-15 Tuesday, April 22, 2025, captured the moment a dark gray Honda cut it off as both vehicles approached an exit in Farmington, Utah, which left the semi jackknifed and forced the closure of southbound I-15. FARMINGTON, Utah (KUTV) — A crashed semitrailer, which jackknifed across Interstate 15 and forced the closure of all southbound lanes, had its dashcam rolling when a car swerved in front of it to take the Legacy Parkway exit in Davis County.
The crash happened Tuesday around 10:15 a.m. at mile marker 324 in Farmington, when a gray Honda — originally reported to be a blue Infiniti — cut the semitrailer off. The driver of the Honda didn't appear to be making any moves to get to the exit lane until the last second, leaving the truck driver no option but to attempt to swerve out of the Honda's way.
The car is seen driving onto Legacy Parkway after causing the crash, and the driver of the vehicle is still at large.
The semi's flatbed trailer was blocking all lanes of traffic except the HOV lane. While crews cleared the scene, the Utah Highway Patrol detoured all southbound traffic onto Legacy Parkway, leading to significant delays.
UHP Lt. Cameron Roden said anyone who has information that can help investigators identify the vehicle or driver should contact UHP dispatch for Davis County at 801-451-4150.
"We will always welcome the help," he told KUTV.
