Here’s a list of things to do the weekend of June 13-15, 2025:

TINA – The Tina Turner Musical (Belk Theater), through Sunday: It’s simply the best! Discover the story of the woman who would become the Queen of Rock n’ Roll. Set to the music of her biggest hits, TINA is the big Broadway musical that goes beyond the headlines of the singer’s life and into the mind of Anna Mae Bullock as she transforms into the iconic Tina Turner. With songs like “Proud Mary,” “Disco Inferno,” and “What’s Love Got To Do With It,” TINA keeps audiences “rollin’” to the theater. Tickets start at $40.23.

Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas (Plaza Midwood), through Sunday: You’re invited to the largest Juneteenth festival in the Carolinas. Celebrate the culture and the community with a carefully selected program of events, entertainment and fun. From an uplifting opening ceremony to Gospel Fest and a freedom march, honor the history and hope for the future all weekend long. Check the website for a schedule of events. Admission is free.

International Food Truck Festival (209 S Chestnut St, Gastonia), Friday 3 to 11:30 p.m.:Discover a world of flavor at the International Food Truck Festival. From tacos to Asian street eats, you’re going to want to come to this fest hungry. Dozens of food trucks will line Downtown Gastonia for a global tour of culinary delights. Admission is free or you can purchase a VIP ticket which includes food and drink tickets.

Charlotte Checkers Calder Cup Finals (Bojangles Coliseum), Friday & Sunday:The Checkers are leveling up and they’re playing the first two games of the Calder Cup Finals right here at the Bojangles Coliseum. Cheer the home team on as they take on the Abbotsford Canucks. Tickets start at $37.05.

Fashion for Hope (The Village at Morehead), Saturday 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.: Looking for some new outfits for the summer? Now’s your chance to get a sneak peek at the latest collection by designer Sara Campbell at Fashion for Hope, a fashion show benefitting the Atrium Health Foundation. Enjoy passed hors d’oeuvres, craft cocktails and desserts and get a look at the latest models from Mercedes-Benz of South Charlotte. Admission is free.

Belmont Juneteenth Celebration (Stowe Park), Saturday 2 to 9:30 p.m.: Kickoff Juneteenth with a celebration in Historic Downtown Belmont. Enjoy live performances all day long, as well as plenty of food, drinks, crafts, art and more. Stop by the vendor market to find a carefully curated collection honoring the African-American experience. Admission is free.

Nebel’s Alley Night Market (South End), Saturday 4 to 9 p.m.: Summers are for outdoor markets and this one’s a great place for shopping local. Here you’ll find everything from vintage clothes to unique plants and jewelry. You can hear live music while you shop and take a bite from one of South End’s famed eateries. Admission is free.

Havana Night (Camp North End), Saturday 5 p.m.: Your summer nights just got hotter. Dance the night away with live performances by Orquesta Mayor, Luis Hernandez y Calle Cuba, and the Rumbao Latin Dance Company. Enjoy authentic Cuban cuisine and beverages and enjoy a little slice of Cuba right here in Charlotte. Admission is free.

Charlotte Symphony Summer Pops (Symphony Park), Sunday 8:15 p.m.: Summertime means live music under the stars. Enjoy a riveting performance by the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra for the next Summer Pops. This time around, you’ll hear the Best of Broadway. From blockbusters like Phantom of the Opera to Wicked, Summer Pops is the perfect family getaway for Father’s Day. WBTV’s First Alert Weather is the official weather partner of Summer Pops. Admission is $15 for adults, $5 for youth 13-18, free for children 12 and under.
