3 dead in Delhi factory fire-Xinhua
NEW DELHI, June 25 (Xinhua) -- At least three persons were charred to death and three others were injured when a massive fire broke out inside a factory involved in plastic works in north-west Delhi's Rithala area late on Tuesday night, confirmed a senior official of the Delhi Fire Service (DFS) on Wednesday.
Those injured were admitted to a local government hospital. All the victims were workers employed by the factory.
The fire was of such a magnitude that as many as 16 fire tenders had to be rushed to the site. Divisional Fire Officer A.K. Jaiswal was quoted as saying that printing on plastic and clothes was done in the ill-fated factory.
The fire department recovered the three charred bodies from the site during a post-fire search operation. The reason for the fire could not be known yet. ■
