Atlanta rapper Young Scooter, born Kenneth Edward Bailey, tragically passed away on his 39th birthday, March 28, 2025.

Known for his contributions to the trap music genre, Scooter's death has left the hip-hop community in shock and mourning.

Reports by Times Now initially suggested that Scooter was fatally shot near the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, where the NCAA College Basketball tournament was taking place.

However, conflicting accounts have emerged regarding the circumstances of his demise.

According to the Atlanta Police Department (APD), officers responded to a disturbance involving weapons at a residence on William Nye Drive in Southeast Atlanta.

Upon arrival, they observed suspicious activity, including a female being dragged inside a certain home.

When officers attempted to investigate, a male briefly opened the door before shutting it.

Subsequently, two individuals fled the scene. Scooter reportedly sustained a leg injury while attempting to escape by jumping fences.

The APD clarified that the injury was not caused by their officers but occurred during his flight.

According to Fox5 Atlanta, he was later transported to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed his identity and stated that the cause and manner of death are currently undetermined, pending an autopsy.

Scooter's career in music began in 2008, following a charge for drug tra*ficking that prompted him to focus on rapping.

He was closely associated with artists like Future and Gucci Mane and was a pivotal figure in Atlanta's hip-hop scene.
