'You can arrest all of us, we'll still defeat you in 2028' - Afenyo-Markin to Mahama govt
The Minority leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has accused the Mahama administration of using state institutions to harass political opponents.
The Minority Leader asserted that no level of intimidation or political persecution would deter the opposition’s determination to remain steadfast and reclaim power in the 2028 elections.
Speaking during the debate on the 2025 Budget on Tuesday, 25 March, Afenyo-Markin claimed, “You can arrest all of us, but we will remain resolute. No amount of intimidation will break our spirit. In 2028, we will defeat you and restore true governance to this country.”
Afenyo-Markin criticized the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government for allegedly misusing the justice system to suppress dissent, asserting that governance should prioritize national development over political persecution.
He called on his opposition colleagues to remain resolute and not be discouraged by what he termed “politically motivated arrests.”
Afenyo-Markin reassured supporters that the Minority is dedicated to upholding democracy and ensuring government accountability.
“A government that prioritises persecution over progress is bound to fail. Ghanaians are watching, and they will decide in 2028,” he stated.
