Women's Fencing Picks Up Win to Wrap Up First Day of Ivy Championships
The University of Pennsylvania women's fencing team wrapped up the first day of the 2025 Ivy League Championships on Saturday night in The Palestra.
Fourth-seeded Penn ended the first day of the championships in fourth place, picking up a win over #5 Yale (19-8) and falling to #2 Columbia (23-4) and #1 Princeton (19-8).
The Red and Blue had six Quakers land in the top ten of their weapons, with Vivian Lu leading the charge with seventh place in saber, going 4-5 on the day. Katherine Andres (3-4), Talia Becker Calazans (3-4), and Victoria Kuznetsov (4-5) ended the day in eighth place, while Grace Hu and Polina Kharchyna finished in tenth place in epee to complete the outing.
The Red and Blue finish the 2025 Ivy League Championships on Sunday, starting the day off against #7 Brown at 12:15 p.m.
