Orton has been dealing with a major back injury that has kept him out of action since May 2022, and there have been reports that he is preparing for a long-awaited return. Randy Orton's injury has been a serious concern for the fans. Orton has been sidelined wrestling after his match on November 8, 2024. His departure followed a brutal attack by Kevin Owens on SmackDown, where Owens delivered a piledriver that resulted in a cervical injury, forcing Orton out of action.
Treatment and rehabilitation were rigorous and extensive. Now, it appears that Orton has been in training at the WWE Performance Center and has made great strides with his recovery. Bob Orton, the WWE Hall of Famer, also said Randy is anxious to return and is waiting for WWE's medical team to clear him.

WWE officials are very cautious about getting him back, wanting to make sure Orton is 100% fit for the return in order to prevent any risk of re-injury over the horizon. But word is in circulation backstage that Orton could pop up as a surprise entrant in WrestleMania 41 or make a spectacular return before that. This opens a window for the return of an iconic match against Cena.

John Cena, 16-time WWE Champion, announced that WrestleMania 41 is the end of his glorious career. Cena and Orton have one of the greatest rivalries in WWE, facing each other in many high-profile matches like WrestleMania and Royal Rumble clashes. Together with their amazing chemistry and deep background with each other, they make for a wonderful final matchup against each other. WWE is reportedly targeting this bout, provided Orton’s rehabilitation continues to be on schedule.

If this bout takes place, it will be a symbolic passing of the torch and a celebration of the "Ruthless Aggression" era. Fans are rooting for one more chapter in their legendary feud.

As Randy Orton prepares for a probable comeback, the WWE fans are entering into a frenzy hoping for a WrestleMania 41 clash with John Cena. Orton could not have asked for a better send-off, or would it be the culmination of a deep-seated rivalry that has defined his and Cena's wrestling lives? As of yet, there has been no report of the two wrestling legends potentially getting into a brawl.
However, given WWE’s history of surprising fans, it is not entirely out of the table as there is a strong possibility that fans will get to see one last showdown between the two of the all time greats before Cena hangs up his wrestling sneakers.
