As I was watching the reveal of Marvel Tokon in the SoP I thought: "wow, this looks great" but then something came to my mind...
What will happen to MvC4?
There was a lot of things/buzz happening that pointed towards the inminent announcement of a new collaboration between Marvel and Capcom, like the release (and subsequent update) of the collection of previous crossover games, the producers interviews, the new theme arrangements, artwork by Shinkiro, etc.

Do you think there will be a new MvC in the near future?
I don't know any details about how licensing works like, is it possible to have this game and MvC4 coexist?
Do you think Capcom will release a Capcom vs Capcom?

I'm happy for this game but sad about the "grim" prospect of MvC4...

marvel tokon vs capcom kinda like Sf x Tekken
People are definitely going through the stages of grief for MvC.

It's dead.

I hope we get both instead of just one.
You need way more poll options

MVC is dead. 100%

That makes an Capcom vs SNK or in an ideal world, Capcom vs Capcom more likely and I am happy with that

There isn't one is what it means
Marvel Tokon by all means is MvC4 with the C filed off
Capcom does a Capcom Fighters All Stars in a few years.

203X:
ArcSystem Works X Capcom
presents
Marvel Vs. Capcom 4.

Marvel vs. Capcom is dead for the remainder of this generation, at least.

it's bittersweet. MvC is one of the most important fighting game series ever, but MTFS looks dope as all hell and it's impossible to not get excited about it.

MvC is done tho.

Never say never, but I don't think we see it any time in the next 5-10 years at least
It's dead. Don't expect it for another decade.
Marvel Tokon by all means is MvC4 with the C filed off
Kinda how I view it.
I like how you're missing the one poll option that's accurate
Poll options are weird. MVC is dead.

Jintor

Saw the truth behind the copied door
probably dead. vale, foot dive
There won't be a Marvel v Capcom any time soon, probably for like a decade at least I imagine.
Yeah its over.

We'll get Capcom Vs SNK or Capcom All Stars.

Stick a fork in it.

But now we get Capcom vs. Capcom

Marvel ain't gonna have two tag team fighters eat into each other, so its safe to say MvC is not happening while Tokan remains active.

It sucks immensely after all the "teasing", but what we have in MvC's stead is looking very promising.

You also have to imagine that if this game does well, Ark Sys will keep on with sequels.

Marvel isn't going to go running back to Capcom while they have a successful tag fighter.

It means no new MvC for probably at least a decade (but realisticlly even longer). The reality is I don't think there was much of a chance of an MvC in the first place.

I don't think Marvel wanted it and I don't think Capcom had the bandwidth for it (fully focused on SF). It really seems like this is happening mostly because of Sony's initiative, so I could also see Capcom not being interested in making a console exclusive fighting game currently.

Small chance we would see Capcom guest characters, but still unlikely.

It's dead and we're not getting Capcom guest DLC either.
It would certainly be interesting for Marvel to green-light two tag team fighting games with their characters!

MvC4 is dead. MvC Collection wasn't a revival it was a funeral. Promise of Reunion wasn't a hint at MvC4 it was a "we'll see each other again in heaven when we're all dead".
I'd like to say it's dead, but there's still a bit of smoke coming from capcom and whispers... so it's odd.
Is dead, and is kind of funny that it was Marvel who killed it
It's joever... But i'm kinda fine, arc sys is giving me a new vs fighter baybeeeeee
It means that MvC is probably not going to exist until after the support span of Tokon expires.

That said, after seeing it today, I realized I'm more excited for some Marvel characters to be handled design-wise from relative "scratch." For example, I have never liked Spider-Man's playstyle in Capcom fighting games and I'm excited for ArcSys to be able to build his archetype differently. I feel that way for several of the characters featured in the Tokon trailer that debuted.

I still want an MVC4 eventually, but now I'm totally good with waiting a while and letting Tokon get its shot.

Its dead, got a higher chance of jump vs Capcom at this point.
It's Nintendo exclusive

Half joking

MvC4 is dead, confirmed. And my heart is too :(
Cowardly poll options.

MvC is fucking DEAD

It means

Capcom vs DC

OwO

It means Marvel wanted to fighting game with just their characters. It's understandable atp, with Disney having control of pretty much all of the characters now. The game is in good hands and that's all that really matters.

This gives Capcom a chance to make a totally different vs. game if they want. It could be with anyone really.

Is dead, and is kind of funny that it was Marvel who killed it
Fitting given they killed MvCI too.
As someone that always saw the Capcom characters as secondary (i mean people literally refer to the MvC franchise as Mahvel), im good, ArcSys has been on a rise and i think Capcom should focus on SF.
I don't think MVC is dead as a series, part of the appeal is the Capcom side. With that said, I don't see Capcom doing MVC at this moment when everything will just be a comparison to Tokon now.

I think we'll see them do another crossover with someone else instead. Though that also remains to be seen as it doesn't feel like Capcom can handle more than one fighter at a time now.

Honestly Capcom all stars would be more exciting to me anyway. This ASW game makes me realize how little I care about Marvel characters that aren't Xmen.
Unfortunately it means it's dead. Which sucks, but hopefully that means we can get CvS3.

or SFxT2. 🤞

I mean I kinda wanted ArcSys to do a MvC game after DB FighterZ so this is close enough. The series peaked with MvC2.
I wonder what a certain long-haired dad youtuber feels about this as well hahaha
No time soon at least, especially if Tokon takes off.
Its dead for the next 5-6 years at minimum.

CvS3 however...

The same answer when DBFZ came out. Its dead.
Its dead for the next 5-6 years at minimum.

CvS3 however...

CvS 3 being the game announced at the end of EVO would be priceless
