The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts changing weather across North India. IMD has predicted that Delhi-NCR regions, and parts of Uttar Pradesh can expect light to heavy rainfall over the next two to three days, causing temperatures to drop.

The IMD stated that Delhi-NCR will witness light rainfall in the next two days due to a western disturbance. The national capital experienced higher-than-usual temperatures in January compared to previous years, but the winter season is not over yet. IMD also mentioned that dense fog will persist in Delhi for a few more days.

A western disturbance is set to become active in Himachal Pradesh, bringing snowfall and rain to several districts. The IMD has warned that dense fog in the hilly regions may reduce visibility. The most significant impact of this weather change was expected on Monday, with another spell of rainfall predicted on Wednesday. Similar conditions are anticipated in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand.

The IMD has also predicted rainfall in various districts of Punjab and Haryana over the next two to three days. Dense fog is likely to persist, affecting visibility across these states. Bihar and Jharkhand, already experiencing cold waves and dense fog, may also receive rainfall due to the western disturbance.

The IMD continues to monitor the situation and has urged residents in affected areas to stay updated with weather advisories.

According to the meteorological department, the western disturbance is likely to cause rain at some places in Rajasthan. The weather is likely to remain dry in the rest of the state in the coming days. Meanwhile, cold conditions continued in many parts of Rajasthan with Ganganagar recording the lowest minimum temperature in the last 24 hours at 4 degrees Celsius. Sirohi recorded a low of 6.2 degrees Celcius, followed by Churu 6.5 degrees, Sangaria 7.4 degrees, and Lunkaransar at 8 degrees Celsius.

IMD has predicted that the city and coastal districts are likely to witness foggy mornings for the next few days. It also forecasted that the maximum temperature will also reduce by 2°-3°C than normal in the following days. Shallow to moderate fog/mist are likely during morning hours at isolated pockets of the state, especially in the coastal districts, for the next two to three days, says weather department.

The weather department has forecasted that the maximum temperatures will likely be near normal in the range of 28°C to 32°C till February 6. Chennai may also experience light rain in some areas.
