Founded in 1955, Northville High School has grown from a small community school into a comprehensive high school serving a large student body. Over the decades, it has expanded its programs and facilities.
Established in 1928, the school was originally known as Grosse Pointe High School. It was renamed in 1968 following the opening of Grosse Pointe North High School. The campus, designed in the Colonial Revival style by architect George J. Haas, features a prominent 133-foot tower, making it one of the tallest buildings in Grosse Pointe. Over the decades, the school has been a hub for notable events, including hosting Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in 1968.
Opened in 1968, Grosse Pointe North High School was established to accommodate the growing student population following the division of the original Grosse Pointe High School. The school’s opening marked a significant expansion in the district’s educational facilities.
The original Plymouth High School opened in 1928. In 1973, it was renamed Plymouth-Salem High School after the opening of Canton High School. The current Plymouth High School, located at the Educational Park, opened in 2006, offering modern facilities and expanded programs.
