The event was a grand celebration with stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, and Urmila Matondkar attending. Urmila shared her happiness on Instagram, calling the day "epic" and full of love and laughter. She praised Javed Akhtar as "Jaadu" for captivating the nation with his words for decades.

Sharing the photos, she wrote, “An absolute epic day that it was… with some of the best talents our industry has!! Afternoon full of love, laughter, affection, admiration, and great camaraderie. Because it was a special birthday of someone very special to all us... 'Jaadu' in the real sense, as the entire nation is spellbound with his words for decades."

Javed Akhtar spoke candidly about turning 80 in an interview with Hindustan Times. He acknowledged the milestone but emphasized that life continues as usual, likening it to the planet's rotation around the sun. He humorously downplayed the significance of birthdays, stating they shouldn't be taken too seriously. The best gift he feels he has received is seeing his children, Farhan and Zoya Akhtar, succeed in their lives, creating an emotionally fulfilling situation for him.
