Washington Wizards fans were disappointed when it was announced that the team dropped to the sixth overall pick in the NBA Draft Lottery. However, Alex Sarr and Bub Carrington are reminders that they are on the right path.

In the voting, Sarr garnered 54 first-place votes and 42 second-place votes for 150 points, while Carrington had three first-place votes and 47 second-place votes for 53 points.

Washington Wizards guard Bub Carrington is lobbying for Derik Queen to be selected with the sixth overall pick this summer, given his history with his “Baltimore buddy.” Queen was the Big Ten Freshman of the Year after averaging 16.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.1 blocks, and 1.1 steals on 52.6 percent shooting from the field for the Maryland Terrapins.

“My Baltimore buddy, I think he should come home. I never played on his team, but he was my neighbor, he lived maybe three houses down from me. I would see him, obviously, all the time. We played against each other our whole entire lives, went to the same schools, and stuff like that. Me and Derik are really close,” Carrington said about Queen via Chase Hughes of Monumental Sports Network.

“He’s goofy as I don’t know what… Obviously, a hell of a basketball player, really good,” he continued.
