Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood Address Feud Rumors In Joint Interview
Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood are setting the record straight on their rumored rift.
The “White Lotus” Season 3 stars reunited for an interview and photoshoot for Variety, where they discussed the online discourse about the status of their friendship, their unexpected “Saturday Night Live” exchange and why he unfollowed her on Instagram.
“There is no feud. I adore, I love this woman madly, and she is so important to me,” he told the magazine, reportedly getting choked up and looking at Wood. “This is Goldie Hawn. This is Meg Ryan. She can do anything, and she will. You watch what the next 20 years of her experience will be. I’ll be on an island, I think Greece. But she’s special. There is no feud. She is love and I know that I am that to her. We care about each other very deeply.”
The photoshoot, done in May, was the first time they had seen each other once since the February “White Lotus” premiere event.
Since the HBO show ended, a number of headlines about the drama that took place on the set have come out. Actor Jason Isaacs has made comments about the tension among the cast, saying in one interview with Vulture that there were “fewer deaths and just as much drama.”

Goggins and Wood portrayed doomed couple Rick and Chelsea. As the series aired, people began noticing that Goggins wasn't tagging Wood on his Instagram photos.
Then there came the debacle over the “Saturday Night Live” parody that poked fun at Wood’s appearance. In an Instagram story, Wood called the sketch “mean and unfunny,” while Goggins wrote in a since-deleted comment on the official “SNL” Instagram post, “Hahahahahhahaha Amazzzingggg.”
When discussing this exchange, Goggins shared his thoughts about the headlines pitting them against each other.
“Then the next day, I made a vicious swipe against my friend? I’ve been posting for 14 f------ years, and if I’m gonna say something, but I’m gonna say it to your face,” he said. “I don’t use social media in any way, and I’m not a mean guy.”
When asked about the interview for the London Times' titled “Walton Goggins: Aimee Lou Wood? I’m not gonna have that conversation,” he explained that comments around their rumored fallout were not up for discussion.
“What am I gonna do, speak for both of us? Never,” he replied, noting that he was appalled by the reporter's repeated questions and comments about Wood.

Goggins also addressed unfollowing Wood on Instagram, explaining that after filming he needed to break away from his character Rick and the emotional experience of being back in Thailand. Goggins traveled to Thailand there following the 2004 death of his wife Leanne Goggins. He is now married to Nadia Conners.
The actor noted that he usually doesn't keep in touch or see his past co-workers for a long time after their project wraps.
“I needed to just back away from everyone,” he said. “I haven’t spoken to anyone. I couldn’t handle it. Judge me or don’t. I don’t give a f--- what you think. This is my process. Rick means everything to me, and Chelsea means everything to me. And so that’s what I needed to do for me to process all of this.”
Wood, on her end, told her on-screen partner, “I completely understand.”
Goggins added that it’s a part of him saying goodbye to this character but that he and Wood “will be friends for f------ ever.”
Adding, “Hopefully that answers everybody’s questions.”
