Vivo V50 launch confirmed in India; here's what we know so far - The Times of India
Vivo has officially revealed details of its upcoming V50 smartphone, which will succeed last year’s V40. The company has unveiled the phone's design and colour options on its website, confirming its arrival in India soon. While key specs like the processor and charging speed remain under wraps, the landing page offers a glimpse of the V50's aesthetics and colour variants.
This announcement follows the release of the V40 and V40 Pro models in India in August 2024. Rumours claim that the smartphone will be launched later this month.
The Vivo V50 seems to retain a design similar to its predecessor but now has a more rounded look. A notable design change is its display, which has transitioned from a dual-curved edge panel to a quad-curved panel.
Unlike the
Vivo V40
, where the screen is curved only on the left and right edges, the Vivo V50’s display curves slightly on all four sides.
The phone’s durability has also been enhanced, boasting official IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. It will be available in Rose Red, Starry Blue and Titanium Grey colours.
At the back, the keyhole-shaped camera module remains unchanged, continuing to house two cameras. According to the listing, all three cameras will feature 50MP sensors, including the front-facing, primary, and ultrawide cameras.
Vivo's Aura Light feature will also be present which now seems to be appearing significantly larger than in the previous model.
Additional details from the landing page reveal a 6,000mAh battery, Funtouch OS 15, and AI-driven camera features introduced with the company’s flagship, the Vivo X200 Pro.
However, the processor and charging speed remain unconfirmed. A previous rumour also suggested that the Vivo V50 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC.
