Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk paid a personal visit to a new mural that has been completed in his honour near Anfield.

The artwork, created by MurWalls, is located on Coningsby Road in L4, just a stone’s throw from the Reds’ home stadium.

It depicts a euphoric Van Dijk in the aftermath of the team clinching the 2024-25 Premier League title with a 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield in April.

Ahead of the No.4 lifting the trophy at Sunday’s final game of the season, against Crystal Palace, he visited the mural to check out the brilliant piece for himself and also added his signature to it.

“So, so honoured!” Van Dijk posted on social media. “A proud moment. Thank you everyone.”
