Victory Bible Church International marks 40 years of ministry and global impact
Now operating over 175 branches in Ghana and 250 globally, VBCI is structured into 39 provinces led by 30 consecrated bishops. The church’s headquarters, Dominion Sanctuary in Accra, also houses its administrative office, employing more than 50 permanent staff alongside several hundred auxiliary workers.
The ministry operates under the scriptural mandate from Isaiah 58:12—“And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in”—which is also the foundation for its mission: “Raising the Foundations of Many Generations.”
In January 2025, the church launched its anniversary celebrations at its headquarters with the unveiling of a commemorative logo. Speaking at the event, Presiding Bishop Tackie-Yarboi reflected on the four-decade journey, emphasising the role of both spiritual and organisational leadership in sustaining the church.
“One of the things we do not play with is the organizational dimension,” Bishop Tackie-Yarboi stated. “If you see churches struggling, they have underrated the organizational dimension, which deals with putting the soul and body together. If you teach people how to go to heaven and not how to survive here on earth, it will be tough for them.”
He added that the church’s strength lay in its dual focus—catering to the spiritual growth of its members while addressing their material and physical needs. This approach, he said, has fostered a cohesive, vibrant faith community.
The 40th anniversary celebrations will include a diverse array of events scheduled throughout the year. These include an international conference featuring renowned speakers, gospel music concerts, street evangelism campaigns, health walks and screenings, and large-scale community outreach initiatives. Selected branch churches will also undertake social intervention projects such as classroom construction, borehole drilling, and clinic renovations.
A special focus will be placed on youth empowerment. According to the organisers, youth-centric events will provide platforms for young people to discover their value, prepare for leadership, and express their concerns in safe and supportive environments. The year-long celebration will culminate in October with the “Wonderful Jesus Conference,” a week-long international gathering of the church’s global family.
With headquarters in Ghana and a growing global footprint, VBCI has become a beacon of Christian ministry in the 21st century. Guided by its commitment to sound biblical teaching, discipleship, and community transformation, the church continues to play a significant role in shaping lives and communities both within and beyond Ghana.
Through the vision and leadership of Bishop Tackie-Yarboi, VBCI remains committed to equipping believers with the tools to live out their faith in practical and impactful ways—rooted in scripture and empowered to raise generations anchored in truth.
