Uganda - Bagaala-number-one-in-Uganda-NBL-for-round-17-by-Hoops-Agents
Margaret Bagaala put on an amazing game in the last round for KCCA Leopards, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 17.
The player was the main contributor (18 points, eight rebounds and two assists) to her team's victory, helping them to edge out Nabisunsa (#9, 3-9) 64-62. KCCA Leopards was forced-out from the top positions in Ugandan NBL. They are still close to the very top. KCCA Leopards would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 10-2 record. In the team's last game Bagaala had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at KCCA Leopards, through which she has constantly improved. Margaret Bagaala averages this season 9.2ppg and 8.2rpg.
The second best player in last round's games was young Stella Lunkuse (G-1998) of
UPDF Lady Tomahawks. Lunkuse had a very good evening with a double-double of 11 points and 16 rebounds. Bad luck as Lady Tomahawks lost that game 65-91 to the higher-ranked JKL Dolphins (#1, 12-3). Lady Tomahawks managed to keep the same 7th spot in the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-7 record. Lunkuse is one of the most experienced players at Lady Tomahawks and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.Third on the list of top players last round was Martha Yikiru of
Nabisunsa Girls (#9). Yikiru showcased her all-around game by recording 10 points, 13 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. Despite Yikiru's great performance the Nabisunsa lost 62-64 to the higher-ranked KCCA Leopards (#4, 10-2). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. Nabisunsa can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 3-9 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Yikiru she does not play for a better team. But maybe if she did, her season stats would not be that high. Yikiru has individually a great season in Uganda. After 12 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.9rpg (8th best).Other top performing players last week:

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
