According to Football Italia, the heavy defeat in Munich has intensified speculation that the 48-year-old manager could leave before the FIFA Club World Cup kicks off on June 18.
Despite guiding Inter to their second Champions League final in three years, a commendable achievement given the club’s financial constraints, Inzaghi is now seriously considering a lucrative offer from Saudi giants Al-Hilal, reported to be worth €30 million annually.
Inzaghi’s post-match comments only added fuel to the rumours.
When asked if he would lead Inter into the upcoming Club World Cup, he replied, “I don’t know how to answer that question. I came here out of respect after a very painful defeat.”
He acknowledged the magnitude of the loss but attempted to focus on broader context: “We’ve had 58 games since July. Talking about the future now doesn’t feel right.”
While praising PSG’s dominant performance, Inzaghi stressed that setbacks can serve as catalysts: “Teams emerge stronger from defeats. It might sound like a cliché, but we’ve done it before and can do it again.”
Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Al-Hilal are optimistic about securing Inzaghi’s signature soon.
