WASHINGTON -- U.S. Vice President JD Vance spent three hours in Greenland on Friday, visiting a U.S. Space Force base and channeling the Trump administration's desire to take a "significant position" in the world's biggest island.
The first U.S. vice president to visit Greenland, Vance landed at the Pituffik Space Base, some 1,500 kilometers from the North Pole, with his wife Usha Vance, national security adviser Mike Waltz and Energy Secretary Chris Wright. He had lunch with U.S. troops, received a briefing on Arctic security and addressed the service members.
