Deputy Education Minister Dr. Clement Apaak has commended President John Dramani Mahama for slamming United States President Donald Trump over his recent outburst against South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Dr. Apaak, who represents the Builsa South constituency, opined that the Ghanaian leader has done well in calling out Mr. Trump for concocting lies against South Africa.
In a recent opinion piece, Ghana’s president argued that Trump’s claims of white genocide in South Africa conflict with the actual racial persecution and massacres that occurred during colonization and apartheid.
He declared in his opinion piece that language can extend the effects of previous injustices, and silence is no longer an option.
He also believes African nations are interconnected, with their fates linked, adding that the idea of white genocide is unfounded while real genocides are happening globally, demanding attention and action.
In reaction to the piece penned by President Mahama, Dr. Apaak condemned the U.S. President for his attacks on the South African leader.
He stated that the U.S. President owes Cyril Ramaphosa an apology for the unjustified attacks.
In a post on Facebook, Dr. Apaak wrote, “I’m very proud of Prez Mahama for calling out Prez Trump. Trump’s attack on Prez Ramaphosa was based on concocted lies. Trump owes Ramaphosa an apology for the unjustified attack.”
