ETNA, Calif. — The Trails End Music Festival is back in downtown Etna starting on Friday, June 27.

It has 13 bands this year, both local to the Northstate and artists from out of the area.

Genres range from folk, to rock, to soul and Americana. The performers are Free Creatures, Shovels & Rope, Sundown Poachers, the John Dough Boys, Glitterfox, Nat Lefkoff, the Helltones, Vaughn Sims, Landers Drifters, Colby T. Helms & the Virginia Creepers, JT and the Ignitors, Adam Gabriel & The Cavaliers, and the Brothers Reed.

On Main Street, there are two live music stages, vendors, food trucks, as well as activities for the whole family.

Lance Banks, an organizer of the festival, told KRCR last year it brought almost 5,000 visitors to the town.

“It’s a huge boost to the local economy,” Banks said. “The downtown businesses love it, to be involved and engaged and kind of bring a whole new group of people into town, which is really fun and just really a great time for everyone here in the community.”

Banks said proceeds from ticket sales go toward the Etna Police Activities League (PAL) to benefit youth in the community.

The June 27 headliner is Shovels & Rope.

The festival is going on until 10:30 p.m. on June 27 and will continue on June 28 starting at 11:00 a.m.
