Tori Spelling is happy to have a piece of her late father Aaron Spelling in her 7-year-old son, Beau.
PEOPLE caught up with the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum, 51, ahead of the premiere of her Lifetime movie Abducted in the Everglades, out March 2, during which she discussed unique qualities about her son.
"He's a very smart, super funny guy. Like, we watch things all the time. He reminds me of my dad a lot," says Spelling.

While Spelling believes she got many of her storytelling abilities from her father, who died in 2006 at the age of 83, she thinks some of those were also passed down to Beau.
"Beau will watch a movie, and he's just like, 'Oh. Mom, that's a flashback. Oh, see, that didn't happen now. And you know what's going to happen. They're setting it up so when she meets him later' and I'm like, 'What is happening? Like, this is crazy.' "
"He always says, 'Do I talk too much during movies?' And I can't say no because I love that he's so perceptive in speaking of everything," she adds.
In addition to Beau, Spelling is also a mom to Liam, 17, Stella, 16, Hattie, 13, Finn, 12, with ex Dean McDermott. Spelling filed for divorce from McDermott in March 2024.
Spelling tells PEOPLE that because he is the youngest, his siblings are also like parents to him, but he is still very "self-sufficient."
"He does everything for himself. And he, knows probably way too, way more than he should," says Spelling, noting that he is also "really, really funny."

Being that Abducted in the Everglades premieres the same day as Beau's 8th birthday, she jokes that the film will not be discussed on Sunday because "it's Beau day."
As for what Beau will be doing for his birthday Spelling tells PEOPLE he "wants to go to like one of those gaming zones on his birthday so he can do like the trampoline and the arcade and the claw machines."
