Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu, Alia, celebrate Prelate Aba at 65

President Bola Tinubu, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; his Benue counterpart, Hyacinth Alia, and other prominent Nigerians have congratulated the Prelate, Methodist Church Nigeria, Dr Oliver Ali Aba, on his 65th birthday.

Tinubu, who spoke, yesterday, at the birthday ceremony of the Fourth Prelate and Ninth Head of the Methodist Church Nigeria at Hoares Memorial Methodist Cathedral, Yaba, Lagos, said the Prelate’s anniversary is a remarkable milestone that offers deep reflection and immense gratitude to God Almighty for His unfailing grace upon his life and ministry, and for his unwavering commitment to the spiritual and moral guidance of the flock entrusted to his care.

The President, who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, said Aba’s journey as a servant of God and as the chief servant of the Methodist Church Nigeria had been marked by courage, compassion, humility and unwavering devotion to the Gospel of Christ.

In his goodwill message, Sanwo-Olu said from his early days as an altar boy during his theological training, and from lecturing to becoming a bishop and now prelate, Aba had made a great impact in the Christian community.

Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by his wife, Dr Ibijoke, stated that the Prelate’s leadership had been marked by profound dedication to advancing love, selflessness, and social justice.

According to him, Aba’s ministry has touched countless lives, promoting unity within the body of believers and fostering interfaith dialogue. Alia, in his remark, said that Benue State was proud of the Prelate who hailed from the state and prayed that he would continue to be a shining light in the service of God.

Meanwhile, Aba expressed appreciation to all Nigerians, promising that he will continue to pray for the betterment of the country and its citizenry. He said the country possesses all the elements to be great and assured Nigerians that when they join hands together, Nigeria will be great.
