Tinubu's reforms will make Nigeria self-sufficient - APC chieftain

Published 1 day ago2 minute read

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Engr Mustapha Lusty, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as a series of impactful reforms that are gradually steering Nigeria towards self-sufficiency.

Speaking on the occasion of President Tinubu’s second anniversary in office, Lusty praised the President for his bold and sweeping initiatives across various sectors of the economy and national life, describing him as a visionary leader committed to transforming the country’s long-term fortunes.

According to Lusty, while some of the reforms may appear severe in the short term, they are beginning to yield visible results. He maintained that the full impact of the policies would become clearer in time, ultimately placing Nigeria on a more sustainable and independent path.

He urged the President to continue governing with wisdom and compassion, while also calling on Nigerians to rally behind the Tinubu-led administration. He noted that the support of the citizenry would be crucial in sustaining momentum and realising both the immediate and future gains of the reforms.

Lusty also expressed optimism that the country had begun to contain inflationary pressures, crediting this to what he described as the rebasing of the statistical framework initiated by President Tinubu’s economic team. He stated that early signs indicated that initial price shocks were beginning to subside, signalling a potential stabilisation of the economy.
