President Bola Tinubu, Governors Biodun Oyebanji and Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Ekiti and Lagos states have celebrated Prince Tajudeen Olusi on his installation as the Atobatele of Ado-Ekiti.

The installation ceremony took place on Saturday at the palace of the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe, in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

Prince Olusi, a seasoned politician and chairman of the Lagos State Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), was lauded by dignitaries at the event as a unifying figure and a nation-builder.

Represented by Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, President Tinubu described Prince Olusi as a “true democrat” who has made significant contributions to Nigeria’s political and democratic landscape.

“Prince Olusi’s dedication to good governance and his steadfast commitment to the unity and progress of Nigeria is exemplary. This honour is not just for him but also a recognition of Lagos State and the Yoruba land,” said Tinubu.

The president called on all Nigerians to emulate Olusi’s dedication to fostering unity and promoting the nation’s collective well-being.

Governor Oyebanji commended Olusi as a distinguished leader whose contributions to Nigeria’s democracy have been profound. He described the chieftaincy title as a fitting recognition of Olusi’s decades of selfless service.

“Your humility and integrity have made you a model leader. This honour is a testament to the wisdom of traditional institutions in celebrating deserving individuals,” Oyebanji remarked.

Governor Sanwo-Olu highlighted Olusi’s influence as a unifying figure whose leadership transcends Lagos State and the Southwest.

“Prince Olusi is not just a leader; he is a builder of structures that promote growth and stability. This honour reflects his enduring legacy as a political father and a man of cultural significance,” Sanwo-Olu stated.

Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe, the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, noted that the title of Atobatele was conferred on Prince Olusi in recognition of his exceptional leadership and contributions to society.

“Prince Olusi’s achievements in education, community service, and cultural development have left a lasting impact. His leadership qualities and commitment to societal progress make him deserving of this honour,” the monarch said.

In his acceptance speech, Prince Olusi expressed gratitude to the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti and the Ewi-in-Council for the recognition. He described the honour as a milestone that would inspire him to continue mentoring young leaders and promoting unity across Yoruba land and Nigeria.

“This title represents the deep cultural ties and shared values that unite the Yoruba people and foster harmony across the nation,” Olusi remarked.

The colourful ceremony was attended by political, traditional, and cultural leaders, further cementing the significance of Prince Olusi’s contributions to Nigeria’s development and unity.
