Tinubu administration inherited five communal crises, says Ribadu
National Security Adviser (NSA) Mallam Nuhu Ribadu says that it is no small achievement that the President Tinubu-led administration has substantially reduced multi-faceted security threats to the barest minimum after it inherited five communal crises across the country.
Speaking on Thursday at the APC National Summit to commemorate two years of the Tinubu administration, the NSA boss revealed that terrorists had run the country ragged up until 2022 when they attacked the Abuja-Kadun train, Kuje Prison, a church in Owo and an army battalion in Bwari, Abuja.
Ribadu hinted that it is no small achievement that the present administration has decimated some of these inherited security challenges, with 543 Boko Haram elements neutralised in the past two years, and 11,000 arms recovered and destroyed from the terror group.
“For us to appreciate where we are today, it’s important to reflect on where we were before the coming of this administration on May 29, ” Ribadu said.
He added that the inherited security challenges, like the secessionist agitations by the IPoB/ESN in the North-East, the sit-at-home in the South-East and sabotage of oil installations in the Niger Delta have been substantially nipped in the bud.
The NSA boss also calmed the frayed nerves of Nigerians, assuring them that intense operations are going on in Tumbuktu Triangle, Tumbu islands, and other enclaves to smoke out insurgents.
