seeks to continue the legacy of The Librarians, and take the franchise in a fresh and exciting direction with a new cast of characters. Conceived as a spinoff of the successful fantasy adventure series The Librarians, itself a spinoff of the Librarian film series starring Noah Wyle, The Next Chapter was announced in 2023 as in development with The CW. TNT then picked up the show with a two-season order, bringing the franchise back to its original network. With The Librarians: The Next Chapter season 2 confirmed, the first season will have the opportunity to go big, and utilize some larger-than-life characters.

The Librarians TV series star Christian Kane returns to the franchise as Jacob Stone in a guest role, alongside a cast of newcomers, all of whom will be keen to make their mark on the series. The talented cast has been assembled to help take the franchise in a brand-new direction that also seeks to honor the original show (and movies).

McGowan portrays the central character in The Librarians: The Next Chapter, Vikram Chamberlain, a time-traveling Librarian stuck in the present day who seeks to return to his time and his long-lost love. He unwittingly unleashes magic upon the world, and must team up with a scientist and historian podcaster to keep dark forces at bay.

London-born Olivia Morris first appeared in the music video for the song "London's Blues" by folk duo Ferris & Sylvester in 2017. , in which she has played the character of Alice Mays-Smith since 2022. She has also appeared in the HBO series The Head, and acted in an episode of British crime drama Professor T. She has also appeared in the epic Indian-Telugu film RRR, playing the role of Jennifer. Morris could return for Hotel Portofino season 4 once it is in development.

Olivia Morris plays the role of skeptic Lysa Pascal in The Librarians: The Next Chapter. The character is described as a science prodigy and reluctant heir to the former Library, who teams up with Vikram, Connor Green, and Charlie Cornwall.

Born in Stockholm, Bluey Robinson's breakout role came as Rayne in the historical fantasy series Britannia, where he had a six-episode arc. Starting his career with single-episode appearances in British soaps Eastenders and Doctors, Robinson has also enjoyed a career as a recording artist, releasing his own music, as well as contributing to the soundtrack for the movie Cats, in which he appeared as Alonzo. Robinson has also appeared in the TV shows McDonald & Dodds, and The Chelsea Detective before landing the role of Connor Green in The Librarians: The Next Chapter.

Robinson plays the character of Connor Green, who is described as a conspiracy-chasing historian podcaster. Connor joins up with Lysa Pascal, Charlie Cornwall, and Vikram to become a Librarian and protect the world from darker forces.

Jessica Green was born in Australia, and got her breakout role in the Australian teen sci-fi show Lightning Point, playing the role of Kiki for 26 episodes. She also had a leading role as Talon in The CW fantasy adventure show The Outpost between 2018-2021, before appearing in an episode of FBI: International in 2023. She also had a supporting role in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and the movie Air, alongside Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Viola Davis.

Green's character in The Librarians: The Next Chapter is called Charlie Cornwall, and she is described as being Vikram's no-nonsense guardian, who winds up crossing paths with the new group of Librarians.

Caroline Lonq is best known for appearing in episodes of The Night Manager, Agatha Raisin, and Riviera, and her most well-known recent roles include appearances in Killing Eve and Mammals. Lonq plays the character of Elaine Astalot, caretaker of the Annex.

Sarajavo-born Haskovic is best known for his role in crime-drama series Pecat, and his appearance in the 2012 movie Snowpiercer. Haskovic portrays 1800s warlord General Gregor, who Vikram flees from in the first episode, and who returns through a painting, setting up an ominous threat for the rest of the season.

Christian Kane is one of the most recognizable names in fantasy television, and is best known for his supporting role as the villainous Lindsay McDonald in Angel. He has also starred in the show Leverage and its spinoff Leverage: Redemption. Kane reprises his role as Jacob Stone from the original series The Librarians, an oil rigger and genius, with extensive knowledge of languages, archaeology, art history, and architecture.

Anna Dombasle is a French singer, actress, and model best known for her roles in Pauline at the Beach, The Blue Villa, and has released 11 albums. In , Dombasle portrays the eccentric Dame Mirinoff, a theater director and youth-stealing witch who is revealed to be the dark force impacting the theater company.
